Meet our amazing linen ladies! These ladies have been volunteering at CA Humanes annual garage sale for 2+ years. They have teamed up to ensure our linen section of the sale is sorted, priced, and made to look nice before opening day. This can mean spending upwards of 24 hours per week at the garage sale plus the time they still spend volunteering during the sale dates as a cashier duo or floaters.
Helma has been volunteering for CA Humane for 4+ years at our annual garage sale. She started out volunteering on sale dates and now helps from the very beginning to the very end of the process, knowing every minute she spends there is helping animals. She is very much an animal lover of all kinds with cats being her favorite.
Wendy has lived and worked in Lacombe for 22 years. When she retired 2+ years ago, she knew she wanted to be active in the community. Wendy volunteers at various events and has been a huge help with her positive outlook and problem-solving skills.
“Last year, Helma invited me to help with the Central Alberta Humane Society garage sale, so this is my second year. I enjoy the social aspect as well as knowing that my time is helping some of our most vulnerable.” “Don’t trust someone that isn’t kind to animals.”
We simply cannot run this tremendous event without our garage sale volunteers like Helma and Wendy. Thank you both for all that you do and continue to do for CA Humane and our cause.
